Medium Tofu Recipe

The Picture is not medium tofu. I lost all of my pictures, so I used the old one. I will make medium tofu next time, and update later. hehehe
My mom usually buys tofu from the market, which is not too firm and soft. It is hard to describe how it tastes, but it is very delicious. However, it costs an arm and a leg. Hehehe. 

Of course, I tried to make it, and I succeeded. Muaha..muaha... I love to fry this tofu, and just serve it with rice and soy sauce. Let's give it a try whenever you want.

How to make Mui Kwe Lu Liquor at home?


I made Mui Kwe Lu for a very long time from the day I came here. I wanted to make Chinese sausage at home, so I made it at home as well. Lol 
I totally forgot that I used to make the liquor before until I need to use it today. I realize that I did not keep the recipe for myself, so I am gonna write it down for me and for you, who love to make Mui Kwe Lu homemade.

Tomato sauce for pizza - Recipe

My hubby does not like to eat anything that is made from tomatoes. In other words, he hates tomatoes. I tried to encourage him to eat tomatoes because tomatoes are good for his health, but I did not succeed. Lol. 

The other day I baked pizza, and of course, I made tomato sauce for the pizza by myself. Surprise! My hubby loved the tomato sauce very much. That was the first time he ate a lot of tomato sauce. He asked me to put more the tomato sauce on the pizza lol. 

I have made the sauce for a thousand times hehehe. Just kidding! Today, I made the sauce on my own, so I wanted to write the recipe down in case I forgot about it. Hehehe

Homemade soy sauce, how to make soy sauce at home (Part 2- processing soy sauce)

Yes, I am the person to make the economics going down. Hehehe. I like to make or produce anything at home. If I could plant rice at home, I would hehehe.  Guess what? I made soy sauce on my own. Hehehe. I was waiting for my soy sauce a year to ferment, and a year was gone, so I am going to process it today.

I fermented soy sauce last year, and I did not take pictures because I was not sure that I could succeed or not. hehehe. I called it "raw soy sauce because it was not processed yet. I just processed my soy sauce, and posted the way to do it on my blog. Haizz I have to write the way to make the raw soy sauce from soybean and miso paste.

I tried to make chicken floss the first time, and it turned out so delicious. Actually, HEB was sale chicken, and I wanted to test my bread machine, so I made it hehehe. 

Homemade sausages

Guess what? I tried to make sausages nowadays, and it failed hehehe. Actually, it was not failed, but I cannot stand its smell. Lol. The casing was bought a long time ago, but it is still good. However, I cannot stand its smell either. I will try to make sausages later without using casing, or I have to find another way to reduce its smell.

Making golden syrup for mooncakes

I want to make mooncakes long time ago, but I am scared of making golden syrup. I do not want to use lye water to make syrup, because it is dangerous for my health.

Finally, I decided to make on my own this year. I am not sure it will be on time or not because my mold is still not here. Hehehe.

I cooked my syrup for mooncakes, and I thought that I do not need to write the recipe. However, I changed my mind. I think I should type it so I can use for next time. Besides, for someone who really needs it.

Beef meatball recipe - Recipe form runawayrice.com



That was the first time I was sick from the day I came here. It was awful, though. I could not do anything at all. I felt like I want to eat a beef meatball, and we decided to went out for beef noodle. The problem was that they gave me a small beef meatball, and it was yucky. I felt like I was eating a flour meatball instead of beef meatball. It does not taste like beef. T_T.

After I went home, I decided to make beef meatball by myself. I found a lot of recipes online; Finally, I came up with this recipe from the owner of runawayrice.com. I love the way she shows us how to use the food processor machine to make meatball more rubbery.

Soya cheese or fermented tofu


I love to eat fermented tofu. Last year, I bought a can of soy cheese, and I could not eat it. There were some weird things inside the can. I think that is chemical that they used to make it. It was not over date, and it was from Taiwan. So disappointed.

Today, I tried to make soy cheese, and I came up with the recipe. Thanks for sharing the recipe

Tofu story


As my friends said, "I might cause the economics is going down because I produce everything like sausage, soy sauce, vinegar, etc." and now I make tofu on my own. Hehehe

Actually, I have not ever thought that I will make tofu. It was when I bought tofu from the stores in Houston. Yuck!!! The tofu became mildewy after a day. I threw them away and tried to buy next time but they were. 

Finally, I tried to make homemade tofu and I struggled to get them. There were a lot of recipes online. But they used many kinds of coagulators that I must buy. I did not want to, so I found the recipes that I could use things which are always available in my kitchen to make coagulators. It was so convenient.

Extra Firm Tofu Recipe (using salt and vinegar)

After I tried many kinds of coagulators, I finally love to use salt and vinegar as the coagulator. They are cheap, and I can find them in the kitchen. Muaha...muaha. Here is my Extra Firm Tofu Recipe. The tofu of this recipe is very firm.

Salted eggs




Actually, I made salted eggs a long time ago. It was almost 3 months hehehe. The reason why I am making salted eggs is my eggs would have been over the date in a few days. I did not know why we did not use eggs. I tried to make a big flan cake, and the rest of my eggs was .. a lot. hehehe. Finally, it was when I remembered about mooncakes. I decided to make salted eggs on my own. Thanks, Thy Thy for sharing the recipe. This recipe can serve and use for making mooncakes. If you do not like the smell, you can try plainly salted egg recipe.

Seitan again


I tried to make seitan again because I love its taste like what I had eaten in my country. After I asked my coworker, her mother makes and sells seitan. I tried to make them with the way she taught me. They were pretty good, but my hub did not like its taste. He loves the chewy one :((

Homemade seitan

I tried to make seitan before by wheat gluten, but I could not stand its smell. It was too strong for me. Besides, I avoided making seitan from bread flour because many websites said that it was very hard to wash the dough. However, I tried to make them today by bread flour. Bingo! It was not as hard as they said. I just washed the dough six times and it was awesome, though. This was the first time that I tried to make pigs intestines seitan (with the hollow inside). They are very popular in my country. We can stir them in many ways.

Making bean sprouts at home


Ingredient:

100 gr - Soybean (you can choose any kind of bean that you like) we can get 500grs bean sprouts
500 ml - warm water (about 40 degrees)
1 plastic basin ( you can use a pot)
Tissue paper 

1 empty drinking water bottle (if you don't have a sprayer)
